PART 02 - MENTAL HEALTH AND OUR PRIORITIES IN LIFE

Friends,

As aforementioned in Part One, Upgrading or financially growing in your life and becoming the best version of  ‘yourself’  is great but in this journey few people become insensitive and ignorant towards themselves and fail to acknowledge their own feelings.

If Your extra working hours, Toxic Work environment is affecting your mental health then it may give rise to some serious issues in the future. Most people want to be wealthier than they are; They are constantly in a hustle; Keeping themselves busy persistently. In the pursuit of always looking for something better, bigger; people don’t even notice that are experiencing mental fatigue until it is too late.

The quench of wanting something eventually becomes greater than the want itself. There is nothing wrong with finding something better but exhausting yourself mentally and physically is unhealthy. We should take a moment in our lives to ask ourselves, ‘Whatever I am chasing right now, is it delusional or am I on the right path?’

If you were to regrettably meet your demise tonight, your employer will find a new replacement for you. It may take some time, maybe a month or two but eventually someone will replace you. However, your loved ones, your family will miss you forever. People are so busy making a living that they have forgotten to live.

Were you just born to excel in a professional field, make a living out of it, assume responsibility of your family, earn money, enable yourself and all your family members to lead a comfortable life?

Are you meant to spend your life paying electricity bills, EMI, home loan instalments? Is that all; Is this your definition of ‘life’?  Do we ever spend a moment of silence with our loss or our accomplishments?

Shouldn’t we take a pause to “feel” the delightful moments of life?

Don’t be afraid, you have yourself covered; you had your back in the past and you will have your back in the future as well. The ticking of the clock does not decide whether it is morning, afternoon or evening.

You simply trust the clock more than you trust the sun. Try instilling the same degree of faith in yourself because when you stop chasing the wrong things, the right things catch up to you.

Oscar Wild said, “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist!"

So, Dear friends the choice is unreservedly yours, do you want to live or do you want to just exist?

Yours,
